Website Optimization: Right keywords

Changing page titles and adding metatags does not improve your page regarding the keywords, if they are simply not suitable for your website. For success, your keywords must directly relate to the content of your pages.

This means that you need HTML text on your pages. Certain sites show large areas that consist only of graphics. These sections might look pretty nice, but are completely ignored by spider engines. The consequence is that text that could make your site more relevant is also ignored. Several search engines index both the meta tags and the text in the ALT tags and the comments. However, to be on the save side, you should use HTML text. Also your visitors will appreciate this!

Please ensure that your HTML text is easy to read. Certain webmasters try to outwit spider engines by entering keywords in a very small font and in the color of the background of the page, so that the text cannot be read in the browser window. However, spider engines are fully aware of these tricks. It is safe to assume that text that is not visible in the browser is ignored for indexing by spider engines.
